We are a private investment firm dedicated to control acquisitions of closely-held small businesses that have a pathway to growth. We aren’t a traditional private equity firm with a short-term view or defined investment period, we aren’t financial engineers, and we’re not a ‘strategic’ consolidator. In fact, our investment strategy involves disciplined investing to grow and strengthen acquired businesses.
With more than a decade of experience as investors and operators in private and public companies, we are a team of professionals dedicated to partnering with established small businesses in the U.S. to accelerate growth and to acknowledging and increasing the value of the businesses we acquire for all of their stakeholders, including customers, vendors, employees, and their communities. Jake is an accomplished M&A principal with experience across investment banking, private equity, and corporate development. He has completed nearly $1 billion of M&A across diverse industries, with a recent emphasis on testing, inspection & certification, healthcare, software, and business services. Jake’s transaction experience is focused within the lower middle market, particularly with founder and family-owned enterprises. Jake graduated from the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, with a B.A. in Economics and from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio, with a Masters of Accountancy degree. Jake is licensed CPA (Inactive) and lives in Chicago, IL with his wife Ambre and Scottish Terrier, Willow.

Spencer is a sixth-generation entrepreneur with a strong track record of starting and working with small businesses to build and execute an operating plan to accomplish their vision. He is also an experienced investment professional in both private and public companies and has extensive experience working with management teams on corporate strategy and operations, for both trillion-dollar blue chip corporations and family-owned small private businesses. Spencer is a CFA Charterholder and graduated from Wright State University with a B.S. in Business Economics and a B.A. in Political Science. He splits his time between New York and Dayton, Ohio.
